This process shreds your whole hard drive into tiny individual pieces using specialist shredding equipment. This destroys all parts of the hard drive, including mechanisms, drive parts and electronic components, which means any data is impossible to recover or restore.

Hard drive crushing

Hard drive crushing makes a hole directly through your hard drive, which completely destroys the drive platters and magnetic surfaces, making any drive data disappear for good.

Data erasure

Data erasure, data cleaning or data wiping is a software-based process whereby electronic data is completely destroyed or overwritten. This is an irreversible process, meaning your sensitive data is not recoverable.

Hard drive degaussing

1. Get in touch

Arranging a collection is as simple as contacting us via our website or just picking up the phone. Just give us a brief explanation of what you would like to collect and on what date and we will do the rest. The majority of our collections are free and we might even be able to purchase some of the equipment from you.

2. We collect your equipment securely

We will arrange to collect your equipment. You choose a convenient date and time. We will then securely collect your equipment on your chosen date using our secure vehicles and highly trained security team. From walking through your door, the collection will be 100% safe and secure.

3. On-site data deletion

If you’d prefer us to destroy your sensitive data BEFORE we leave your premises, that’s fine! We can offer a secure data destruction service at your place of business. As well as our NCSC-approved data erasure service, we can also crush and shred your equipment on-site.

4. Equipment processing

Once your equipment arrives at our nearest branch, we will decide what is recyclable and what needs to be disposed of. Anything that we can recycle will be re-used after being securely erased. We may also refurbish your equipment to ensure it can be reused and will test everything before sending it out.

5. Recycling, shredding, crushing

Once we’ve processed your equipment and decided what to recycle, refurbish or remove from circulation, we will shred all components that contain data. We are environmentally conscious, ensuring that all components are disposed of in the correct way, minimising plastic waste and landfills.

6. Overview & reporting

Once our disposal, recycling and destruction processes are finished, we will provide an overview of the actions we’ve taken in the form of a written report. It’s up to you whether you would like to ask for specific reporting, or just allow us to inform you of the key aspects of the process, based on our experience.
